Regarding MARVEL NOW's THUNDERBOLTS #1...

A team consisting of Deadpool, Elektra, Red Hulk, Venom and the Punisher.

  1. "Finally?" They had a literal team of all Wolverines in Exiles issues 85 & 86.

    1. Numerous. They just kept sending team after team of nothing but Wolverines until the planet was pretty much covered with nothing but.

  2. A team consisting of nothing but people who don't work in teams. What a great idea.

    1. only Deadpool is on X-Force, Red Hulk is on Avengers, Venom is on the Secret Avengers, and Punisher was on the Marvel Knights. I think Elektra is the odd woman out

    2. An odd quirk of the loner archetype is that it really benefits from a supporting cast a lot more than some of the more social archetypes. If Sherlock didn't have Watson he'd basically just be working in silence until he'd figured out the case. Batman similarly was given Robin partially just as an excuse to get him to talk. With more social characters so long as there are people around they've always got reason to talk. So you've got Broodstauch Lonerstein over here in the corner with a small militia of friends and allies accumulated over the course of all the teams he's been on and all the partnerships they've taken up and meanwhile Paragon McSocialpants is suspiciously alone in the world.

    3. Broodstauch Lonerstein? Paragon McSocialpants?
With character names like that, you have the makings of a great parody comic. *I* would read it!

    4. Hang on. There are some Marvel characters that aren't in the Avengers?

  3. I think the earlier version of X-Force was a team full of Wolverines. Wolverine, X-23, Warpath, Wolfsbane, etc.

  4. It's not like they can put Wolverine on another team, he's already in every other one Marvel has. I have no idea how the guy sleeps. It's probably why he's so cranky.

  5. Wolverine is the "Elmo" of Marvel Comics.

    1. Are you saying he's a lackluster character that's become popular because Marvel comics have been dumbed down beyond belief?

  6. Not yet! They can still team Daken and X-23 together.

He is pretty much right: a bad of badass anti-heroes who aren't shy about murder.

  7. That's not all Wolverines. The first X-Force relaunch was all Wolverines.

  8. What's he talking about? Anyone who looks at the art can tell that it's a team of all Franks.
