While discussing BLACK ADAM's costume...

  1. Hahaha- "The Bad Shazam"!!! That's just going to be what I call CAPTAIN MARVEL'S archenemy in my head from now on...

  2. Technically, wouldn't "the Bad Shazam" be whoever it is that lives at the Rock of Finality where the Seven Noble Virtues are imprisoned?

  3. but but but but... bad santa did alright dressing up like regular santa. besides, if they're naming a guy after another guy and just putting "bad" or "dark" in front of the name, or "girl" or "woman" after the name, then originality was probably never gonna be part of the plan anyway. time to go read some THOR GIRL!

  4. I think a better question is why doesn't the wizard who gave Black Adam his powers, just...y'know, take them away? Is it that "Shazam" is always magical no matter who yells it? Because that's just a disaster waiting to happen.

  5. the wizard got flattened into a wizard pancake by a giant block of stone right after he gave billy batson the power, dint he?

  6. Only in the animated short. Sweet cartoon though.

  7. @Blue Gargantua: Shazam DID take Adam's powers away, like a zillion years ago. But for some reason, he put them in an amulet rather than just, y'know, stopping them from existing, and Adam eventually got them back.

So the reason is because Shazam sucks.

  8. Um...costumes are assigned by the powers that be. Your not given a choice. duh!

  9. Let's not forget DC's other original villain costumes, such as Bizarro... wait, I mean, Reverse Flash... um.. umm.. or Sinest... nevermind.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Marvel's not guilty of the same thing, I just think DC reuses designs a bit more often.

  10. Wait...I thought that Black Adam had to yell "Chocolate Egg Cream" now, for it work?

Nevertheless, that is a fabulous costume, and should be left well-enough alone.

"Thor Girl" would be Sif, Thor's wife.

  12. lol wut no. i'm not referring to thor's wife sif as thor girl, the way somebody might get supergirl & power girl mixed up. there is a marvel comics character named THOR GIRL, and that is who i mean when i write "thor girl."

  14. @ Matt Maybray -actually, yes. I had not even thought of that but it must be the truth! "Rock of Finality" Ha!

  15. Yeah. I think Jerry Ordway or Geoff Johns came up with that during that one JSA/ Black Adam Family story. Cool concept. The Seven Virtues don't get a whole lot of play in popular media.

  16. If I recall correctly, Black Adam's powers were representative of various Egyptian Gods and during "World War 3" (which I think was actually the fourth time World War 3 had broken out in the DCU) Captain Marvel did try to appeal to them to take away Black Adam's powers.

They laughed in his face and tossed him out of their domain.

  17. 1. I thought Black Adam technically came first, making Captain Marvel actually the Reverse-Bad Black Adam, and not the other way around.

    2. Wouldn't actually be "Bad Shazam" if they didn't look anything alike. There are several characters that have popped up over the years who have roughly the same skill set as Batman, but only Owlman and the Justice Lords Batman stand out as "Bad Batman" characters.

    3. If Black Adam transforms the exact same way as Captain Marvel, then it would be pretty damn silly, and awfully presumptuous, if his costume had a hammer logo instead of a lightning bolt.
