Regarding a series of action figures based on the REAL GHOSTBUSTERS cartoon show...

Yeah. Because that's a real thing.

  1. Sure its a thing, if your looking at 5 year olds.
Who's parents should be taken to task for not teaching them properly.

  2. If a 5 year old in this day and age has even seen the 'Real Ghostbusters' I'd be kinda bewildered.

  3. Do kid's today even know about the cartoon?

  4. The Stay Puft shirt is the cherry on the frosting on the cupcake!

And let's not forget that at least ONE of the Ghostbusters cartoons is canon, given the role of Slimer in the 2nd movie.

  5. Ah, but does anyone recall the other ghostbusters cartoon. Filmations Ghostbusters based on the live action 1970s tv show with the same name? One of the ghostbusters was a gorilla.

  6. Guilty as charged. I grew up on the cartoons (Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters). Never cared for the movies.

  7. @ Anon at 11:30!

That's what bugs me... All of these posers who like the 80s Ghostbusters but have never heard of the original Ghost Busters. Jake, Eddie, Tracy and their 2nd generation all the way!

  8. I grew up with the cartoons long before I ever saw the movies. That said, I love them both. What the hell is this guy's problem? Who the hell under 21 knows about the Real Ghostbusters?! Are there really enough of them who haven't seen the films that this guy has to get his underwear in a knot?

It took me years to convince my brothers, who are massive fans of the Real Ghostbusters and the movies, that there was a Ghostbusters cartoon that featured a gorilla as one of the team members.

  10. Damn, but that was a great show. Battles with Cthulhu BEFORE it was done to death, Sandman as the creepiest ghoul in the world, sharp dialogue in the midst of a children's program....

Cartoon > Movies. Come at me, Stay Puft.

  11. I'm sick of all these so-called X-Men fans who don't even know who Angel and Marvel Girl are.

  12. If Ghostbusters ever got remade into a movie today, I want them to use the Filmation one. With the gorilla.

  13. This comes from a segment entitled "Pet Peeves of 1989."

  16. Wait a minute. I remember watching the cartoon back in the '80's. But I always remembered it as being based on the movie. Did the toon come first and the movie based on the toon after? Could be they re-aired the cartoon with the release of the movies and I just never knew better..
