Ladies and gentlemen, the line for autographs begins here...

  1. Pretty cool that George Lucas is one of your customers, actually.

  2. I remember seeing that movie with a young Ms Gates in 2002. Terrible movie.

  3. And I'm one of the fewer people that paid money and watched that cinematic titanic all the way to the end. Besides how terrible it was, I couldn't understand how they could just put someone in a suit and mask that had absolutely no facial expression, 2 years after Rick Baker's amazing academy award winning apes in Greystoke.

    1. Mammalian conspiracy. Birds and reptiles can't get a break.

  4. Howard the Duck was on Netflix last I checked and has been for a couple years. I keep threatening my wife with it. Also, I've got a 17 year old student who knew exactly who Howard the Duck is, so its absolutely not just the old school who know about him.

  5. Those of you who know Howard the Duck from the movie are closer to this guy than you think.

  6. I remember when he tried to register under the SHRA, but he couldn't because he technically wasn't human - he was fowl. That led to a lot of people chasing him, after which he met MODOT, the Mobile Organism Designed Only for Talking. It was a pretty fun miniseries. Before that, I used to get old issues from the 70s out of quarter / 50 cent / dollar bins.

And I'm hardly unique in that. Most comic fans at least have tangential knowledge of him outside of the Lucas-helmed disasterpiece.

  7. Howard the Duck is probably the most common cameo character in Marvel comics, so I'd be surprised if a Marvel reader doesn't know about him on some level. At the very least they should know him as: "There's that duck again."

  8. Wait, Howard the Duck was in that silly Guardians movie? Really?! THE Howard THE Duck?!

  9. You don't even need to read comics in order to catch that one. You only need to have seen the 1986 Lucasfilm movie, which is like a kitsch cult classic.
