    1. And this is exactly something I would say in a comic shop...if I ever went to a comic shop...which I would if there were any within 50 miles...

  3. I never knew what the underwear was for. I'm glad this scholar lent his wisdom to me.

    1. Modesty. It provides additional support for Superman, Jr.

  5. Hi..I'm Chris Hansen from Dateline. Why don't you have a seat.

Now... Did you say,and i quote, "Where's your little underpants? How can i trust you if you don't wear underpants?"

And what's with the condoms,Mike's Hard Lemonade and that weirdly homoerotic Aquaman action figure?

  6. Honestly, it's not that I don't trust Superman, but as ridiculous as having the undies on outside was, the unitard is just that much more ridiculous, and it's hard to take him seriously. The red undies at least provided a breakup in the otherwise mostly solid blue of the outfit and provided a nice contrast that made it easier on the eyes. Now he just looks like he's trying to fight crime in his bootie pajamas.

  7. "Underpants on the outside" is also part of my judgment of whether I can trust someone. I think it goes the opposite direction for me though.

  8. If I was faced with a beardy weirdy getting all obsessive about Superman's 'li'l underpants', I'd slap a 'crazies' tag on that thing.

  9. To be fair, I ask this question of most middle aged men I meet.

  10. Ohh, I see. "Man of Steel" must be the working title for "Superman: Going Commando".

  11. I still think it's a funny, off-the-cuff, observational quip. But then, I'm middle aged and have a beard, sooooo......

  12. I was going to recommend the “crazies” tag, but then I Google image searched “new Superman costume” and now I think there should be an “it’s true” tag!

    1. There definitely should be the "it's true" tag for this.

And it's not just the lack of outer-underpants in the new superman costume that makes it creepy. It's the whole, um… package.

I mean why does he need a belt buckle when he doesn't have a belt? There's something suspicious about that right there.

  13. I thought the missing underpants were part of the plot.

  14. The red underpants was exactly the biggest reason among a handful of reasons why I continue to scornfully mock Superman, and pretty much every other spandex people with as much fashion sense as a blind bat.

The fact that that guy demands something so stupid to come back makes me want to vomit.
