While discussing the AVENGERS...

  1. Nah. He just has a really really bad case of pink eye and doesn't want anyone to know about it.

  2. Truly a plot worthy of the Decepticons. Hail Megatron!

  3. CLEARLY Nick Fury lost his eye in a sewing accident.

  4. Well, you see, there's this hole in the wall of the S.H.I.E.L.D.'s women's shower room, and...

    1. Dammit, man, don't tell them there's a hole in the wall...

...or they might find the other ones, too.

  5. MRTIM, I don't now why you chose to put a "Dopes" tag and not an "It's True" tag. Household safety is no joke and horseplay should not be tolerated. If anything we should look at this as a teachable moment on rowdy behavior, whether by children or nearly 100 year old WWII vets and their ret-conned doppelgangers.

  10. He traded his eye to Mimir for a drink from the well of wisdom. That's why he's always two steps ahead.

  12. I miss the days when Nick Fury was white. Don't get me wrong, samuel l Jackson. Is cool and all, but it isn't the Fury I grew up with. This may sound racist but it isn't. I have the same problem with green goblin from the Raimi flicks and the costumes for daredevil and Thor on the old hulk show.

    1. Honestly, though, can you think of any other actor or, for that matter, actress who could play that part? I've always imagined casting it took about 15 seconds.

    2. After seeing Inglourious Basterds, I think I could imagine Brad Pitt in the role.

  13. It is something that makes little sense in all scripted universes. Far fewer accidents happen and there is always an explanation to why things happen. Whenever someone is hurt is always the scheming machinations of some villain. Some times accidents happen. But I guess not in Super Hero world.
