    1. you mean XIII?

    2. Yeah, don't badmouth 12. 12 is one of the ones where it's basically an ever-expanding area of stuff to do and people to meet until that area eventually covers the whole world. 13 is the one where it's a linear jog down a corridor for A THOUSAND YEARS before it gets good.

So I'm pretty sure the first Anon meant XIII. Or they just don't know crap about the Final Fantasy series.

    3. I think they were referring to the battle system where you just watch them do everything on autopilot.

    1. Didya ya know that Adventure, which was originally for the Atari 2600 had the first video game Easter egg, before they were called Easter eggs? Ya see, back in those days, creators didn't get credited, so they snuck their names into a hidden room.

    2. I remember that. You had to grab an invisible and bring it to another part of the dungeon item to activate it. By the time it was discovered, Warren Robinett was already working for someone else. His boss (I forget his name) coined the term easter egg when describing the hidden message.

    3. Untrue, the term Easter egg in relation to hidden items comes from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the movie crew had an actual Easter Egg hunt one day on the set, and some of the eggs can be seen in the film where they had not been removed from the set before filming began.

  9. This is kind of the way videogames are designed as of '07 or so. Designers are really afraid of having a situation where the goal isn't 100% obvious, or the player could possibly fail at said goal.

  11. They make games like that. Just do a search for "idle" on Kongregate and see for yourself.

  12. Someone needs to write SimCouch and World of Sofacraft to cash on the underserved video game market this man represents.
