Maybe she's just bitter that her adult son, who may have kids of his own, most likely lives in her basement and makes her drive him around to comic shops. Actually, if his friends all come around, I can see where her 'all of you' is coming from.
If she's the one taking her ADULT son to the stores, she's the one who failed to raise him right and others might want to learn from her negative example.
But don't worry, #1 Grandma: you'll be dead soon. Then you can go to Foul-Mouthed Angry Old Rat-Bag Heaven and enjoy the pitchfork massage and the all-you-can-eat burning-feces buffet while you laugh at all the screaming idiots. Idiots!
@Dirge: If he's old enough to be the one responsible for that sweatshirt, then she's clearly right. He's damn well old enough to drive himself to stores like that. Also, she may be the #1 Grandma, but I'm'a guess she was a pretty piss-poor mother.
I think people are offended because the old lady said guys in comic book stores need to grow up. This might have something to do with the sort of people that frequent this site, which is focused around a comic book store.
I'll be around if you guys miss anything else obvious.
YEAH SO MAYBE I DO COLLECT COMICS AND/OR ACTION FIGURES AND/OR SOME OTHER ITEM THAT IS DEEMED "OUTSIDE THE NORM." WHAT OF IT?!? MAYBE IF YOUR WORLD VIEW WERE A BIT LESS NARROW YOU'D UNDERSTAND HOW CRAZY AWESOME IT IS! BUT NO, YOU'RE STUCK IN SOME OUTMODED BELIEF SYSTEM THAT DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ME! SO BE IT. YOU'RE DEAD TO ME. NOW DRIVE ME TO BURGER KING. PLEASE.
No post is so silly that it cannot be made worse by posting it Anonymously. No response is so witty that it is not wasted on an anon. poster. That is the only 'need to grow up message' for this comic and this site.
Dear HarlotBug3: Is that your real name? No? Then you're posting anonymously. The psuedonym is just frosting.
Generally speaking now: What pisses me off about this sow is that she tars everyone with the same brush. I'm a fully-employed, independent, tax-paying grown-up. Nobody drives me anywhere without me giving them a fare and tip.
My own grandmother once starved a pet to death just to spite her daughter-in-law, but I don't stagger about screaming at strangers (or anyone else) that grandmothers should be locked up in nuthouses.
Anon just above: By that logic, people like Michael Caine, Alice Cooper and the Big Bopper are (or were) anonymous in everything they did under their respective pseudonyms.
If this was an anonymous post, then you would have no reason to assume that it had any connection to the guy further up who reiterated the categories as an insulting observation.
And grandmothers starving pets to death has everything to do with comic book collectors growing up. Yes indeedy, that was a very intelligent argument that wasn't a non-sequitur at all, nor is it logically fallacious by any measure.
If you couldn't detect the sarcasm/irony of the previous paragraph, then you prove #1 granny right. You need to fucking grow up.
Sorceror has problems with logic but they're YOUR problems, and if you don't take his foulmouthed insults with aplomb then YOU"RE the one who needs to grow up. DERP
Growing up is overrated. Getting angry an grandma is probably a bit insecure. I think she should get an exemption from the 'jerks' category cos she is kind of brilliant.
she's an enabler, she ought to kick her own ass for driving her ADULT son around instead of making him take care of his own self. the world os so full of losers..........
Shouldn't the Labels for this one be some combination of Jerks & Jus' Folks rather than only "it's true"?
ReplyDeleteYes, mom.
ReplyDeleteThis woman gives great head
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I think we should all grow up to be cranky grandparents just like her. ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah! Become a productive member of society and learn to knit and water the grass and wave sticks at kids and mumble about "back in my day...."
ReplyDeleteGo Grandma!
ReplyDeleteI'd hit that.
ReplyDeleteThe comments to this comic is scarier than the grandma.
ReplyDelete/Skytteflickan88
I like how many of you are offended.
ReplyDeleteAnon just above me is correct. To reiterate the categories: it's true, jerks.
ReplyDeleteShe truly is the #1 Grandma!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how old her son is?
ReplyDelete"Kick this childish, make-believe crap that just warps your brain and read the fucking, God's-honest BIBLE!"
ReplyDeleteHey Grams!....It's better than a stranger making you get in his van for a ride down to the river.
ReplyDeleteI'd hate to see the #100 grandma...
ReplyDeleteMaybe she's just bitter that her adult son, who may have kids of his own, most likely lives in her basement and makes her drive him around to comic shops. Actually, if his friends all come around, I can see where her 'all of you' is coming from.
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:35 - your non-sequitur is showing. It's spewing bile and stupidity all over the place.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, the label is absolutely right - it's true.
Yeah. This happened.
ReplyDeleteIf she's the one taking him to the stores he does need to grow the fuck up.
ReplyDeleteAnd apparently so do some of you.

I bet you guys say the same thing about every adult who dares tell you to grow up.

Why is everyone on the internet so spiteful?

ReplyDeleteI don't know, man. I don't know.
@anon 4:27am
ReplyDeleteMy son makes me post his anonymous comments on the Internet "ALL THE TIME"! You kids that get offended need to "GROW A PAIR"!
that gramma rules.
ReplyDeletelol i bet she has a walker and could still kick all those nerds' asses. gramma fuckin' owning nerds with her cane. sweet.
The logic you may be objecting to was simply an extrapolation of the Anon logic: "you're anonymous if you use a pseudonym".
