Regarding the GREEN LANTERN movie...

  1. Not actually such a stringent rule; just about every movie has some haters.

  2. I like a lot of movies that others hate, but only for the film's merits, not to be contrarian. That would just be lame and pathetic, Armond White.

  7. There is a certain logic to the madness:
at least you can never be disappointed.
And more often than not, you'll be happily be surprised. Especially for movies where it's "you'll either love it or hate it".

She might sound like a hipster, but you'd be surprised if you tried it yourself :)

    1. I hope I never become so afraid of being disappointed that it keeps me from trying what I want.

  9. That isn't exactly a "rule" that I have, but it strangely is usually the case. Almost all of my favorite TV shows and comics get cancelled, favorite movies bomb at the box office, favorite breakfast cereals and assorted foods get discontinued, and favorite bands break up way too soon. I'm friggin' cursed!

  12. Irwin Allen's "The Swarm" is one of my favorite movies. Can't. Stop. Giggling. Bad movies are the best movies!

  13. If the only reason you like something is because the majority hates it, you're still just letting the majority do your thinking for you.
