  1. I haven't read or seen the girl with the dragon tattoo so I have no idea if that's right or not (I'm assuming it's not), but now I really want to rewatch Hackers.

  2. Pretty close, except that Bloomkvist isn't a geek, he's a 50-something journalist. Still, A for effort.

  3. And Brain's voice from Spaced runs through my head.
    "Its a bit more complex than that."

  4. Oh hey, someone without a logo shirt for once. Good for you, guy.

  5. Hackers was much better, too. Not that Hackers is a great film or anything.

  6. Worse, he wears....PLAID. GWTDT is probably too popular for his tastes.

  7. Wait, Girl with the Dragon tattoo has skateboards and computers with giant buttons set aside for different antivirus programs? Information on Phreaking? Angelina's boobs? I should read it! Also? Hack the Planet!

  9. Hackers is seriously one of the most hilariously bad movies ever.

  10. I've seen the trailer. "Hot" is seriously overstating things.

  11. The greatest hacker movie is Real Genius.

  12. You're not one to talk at all, Slade "Web Design" Grayson.

    Ouch!

    Web Design? I'm a writer. If I was a web designer, I wouldn't have one of those chintzy do-it-yourself websites to plug my books and articles (sladegrayson.com). Also, I'd earn a lot more money.

  14. "Anonymous said...
    @Joseph

    Brain"

    It takes an Anon to FAIL to correct a typo like this.

    @Joseph
    Brian.

  15. Everyone else's personal opinion is wrong. Lawnmower Man was the best hacker movie, both for production values and for being the most realistic.

  16. "Mister Potato Head!!"
    Really -- no love for WARGAMES?
    Walk with me, if you will. Observe: pay-phone hacking; cradle modems; analong inter- and intranets...
    Gentlemen, Ally Sheedy's sweaty cleavage.
    Win.

  17. The most realistic hacker movie has never been made, and probably never will be. Because it would consist of hours of someone in sweats sitting in a blacked-out apartment typing on a laptop while living on fast food delivery and listening to dubstep really, really loud.

    No cleavage whatsoever, sweaty or otherwise.
    (unless the camera ever shows what's on the laptop's screen)
