To her boyfriend while truly over thinking the AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE episode that was playing...

  1. When the show first came out one of my roommates at the time was really disturbed by Frylock. Nothing about the other characters/strangeness bothered him, but Frylock freaked him out.

  3. I like that show. I find that it is highly effilligent and edumacationist for my brain. Because I am smart, boy.

  4. On Adult Swim we have evolved beyond rules, and manners.

  5. In her defence, it IS a pretty dumb show. I couldn ever get into it.

  8. Having every square inch of your bloody face pierced doesn't make an awful lot of sense, either... however, ATHF is quite silly.

  9. Actually, ma'am, based on your description you get the show perfectly.

  10. The dumbness of the show is the whole point. It's Dada: They're living fast food items who, according to the name of the show, are supposed to fight crime. But they never actually do that, nor does the fact that they're fast food items even come up that often or affect anything at all. The whole point of Dada is that the weirdness is meaningless.

  11. Aqua Teen Hunger Force...How does the name imply that they are crime fighters?

  12. Because they were supposed to fight crime back when it first aired, but that was only so the creators could get the show approved by the execs. When they stopped caring, the creators turned the show into what they wanted it to be, which is what it is now.

  13. Except that now they've changed the name to Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1, and they suddenly fight crime again. Which is funny, because on the one hand, they're "going back to basics," but on the other hand, like the 2:11 Anonymous said, the "basics" were pretty much only there to sneak the show onto the air in the first place.

  14. Oh, also:
I don't GET this show. So the coyote is chasing a roadrunner? With what? TNT? That doesn't make ANY sense.

  16. I don't GET this show. She's just a high school cheerleader, but fights a supervillain? And he's BLUE? That doesn't make ANY sense.

  17. I just don't GET this show. So they travel around in a van and solve crimes? And the dog can talk? And they're scared of an old guy wearing a sheet? That doesn't make ANY sense.

  18. I was going to mention that introduction of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force on Space Ghost Coast to Coast. It was different, and it wasn't as good.

No one has mentioned Carl. Without Carl the show wouldn't work at all.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast (not the very last ones, but the ones that preceded the name "Adult Swim" was the best thing they've done.

  19. I don't get this show. The guy wears bat ears and punches people? With a what? An eight-year-old? That doesn't make any sense.

  20. I don't get it either. Why does the shake not just eat the meatball? And how come their token black guy is a carton of chips?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think Meatwad may also be black. At least dark brown.

  22. ATHF/AUPS1 should be viewed while high. The show's creators have said as much.

  23. If your show can only be entertaining to people who have dulled their minds with marijuana...YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

  24. I watch ATHF sober AND I VOTE.

  25. @TB Tabby--unless that's your target demographic. In that case, you're doing it RIGHT.

I'd bet she was very attractive.

  27. I just don't GET this show. The detective has a bunch of devices built in to him? With what? Voice command? That doesn't make ANY sense.

  28. You are correct. It DOESN'T make any sense. That is why we loved it so much 10 years ago. We needed something that was just absurd, that didn't make any sense at all, but was utterly hilarious. Something to laugh at that had nothing to do with anything. That was ATHF and Adult Swim.
