  1. I like nerdy girls. Y'know, as long as they are also super-models and have a sense of humor.

  2. Ah, the ever-mythical "cool nerd." Keep reaching for that rainbow, little girl!

  3. Those are the guys that claim nerd now, because now its cool. Where are they every Wednesday? My LCS is tanking.

  4. Jus' fem-folks.

  5. The thing is the nerdy guys who are really hot and have a good sense of style can attract the nerdy girls who are also super-models and have a sense of humor.

  6. @sideshowcris Calling them Mythical just makes me imagine them with a unicorn horn, darting elusively between comic book shelves.

  7. So what she REALLY wants is just a guy with glasses.

  8. I think my opinion of this one can be summed up with the following:

    HA HA HA, OH WOW.

  10. kinda like the nerds in that 80's film classic: REVENGE OF THE STYLISH HOTTIE NERDS

  11. Girls can be pigs too, it's not just boys with unrealistic expectations.

  12. She may as well marry a Unicorn, because it's just as likely. I'm as gay as Christmas, and any style that came with that got completely shorted out by my comic nerd-dom.

  13. Hey, she just described Carl Sagan ;)

  14. I will choose to believe this young lady's comment is meant ironically.

  15. Actually, not cool. What's to say that you can't be "geeky" and the aforementioned things. Just because I've got a closet full of stylish clothes, does that automatically revoke my license to geek? Also, it seems there's a double standard, and that annoys. It's okay if an attractive female gets her geek on, so why can't a guy? Not cool, Our Valued Customers, not cool.

  16. Sorry, but the hot, nerdy guys with a sense of style already have boyfriends!

  17. Amelia, the problem is that she's claiming to like nerdy guys, and then painting a picture of a guy that has nothing to do with nerdiness. You could just say that you like guys, as long as they're real hot etc.

Nerds/geeks/dorks have been a thing lately, and she seems to be just catering to that for indie cred or some such bullshit nonsense

    that's the complaint here
plus, nerds are dedicated to video games and computers, that's literally how you define a nerd.. and that doesnt leave a lot of time for the gym, or a tan, or shopping for great clothes. Cant call yourself a nerd just 'cause you play games, unless you want to change the meaning of the word.

  18. what I mean to say is that geek isnt a verb, it's a label, and you shouldnt try to squeeze into that category just cause it's hip (assuming it still is)

    Amelia, the problem is....

What is wrong with you? You've heard of a joke before, right? You're aware of the rhythms and cadences of said joke? You're aware that OTHER people know this too, yes? Or did you really think you needed to explain the mechanics? I mean, seriously? And on the basis of GRAMMAR?

I need to go lie down. For fuck's sake.

Love how she wants a hot guy yet she's spitting everywhere, her fingers are like claws, she's got more moles than a radioactive Cindy Crawford. And style? Yeah, cause style's totally attracted to moley broads walking around stores with open drinks while wearing shirts sporting pissant pop bands!

  21. I like nerdy girls... As long as they dont smell like a bag of wet cheese.

Sorry, dears, I think Ryan Reynolds, Sam Jackson, and Felicia Day are unlikely to be available to you.

My favorite part of these comments is when someone explains the joke to someone else, and then you yell at them and explain that they're the ones who don't get it.

  24. I like nerdy girls, as long as they're hot, don't know that they are hot, and have low enough self esteem to date me, but not so low that its annoying and self-depricating.

I think we all appreciate those girls.

  26. Such a bizarre no-true-scotsman situation going on here.

Listen, this site is pretty much dedicated to mocking the worst offenders of nerd-dom, yet I'd fathom that the majority of its readers are self-described nerds themselves. Not everyone fits into the same narrow criteria.

I dress fashionably, have been described by various parties as reasonably attractive, and yet have never once in my life had my geek cred questioned.

If there's anything I lament most about the geek community, it's that despite supposedly being a bunch of marginalized outsiders, it really isn't anywhere near as inclusive as it should be.

  27. This is the first "our valued customers" comic that I don't really understand. My boyfriend is a super comic-book nerd. He also happens to be hot and very fashionable. Why should these things be mutually exclusive? They aren't.

  28. "Nerdy", "Hot", "Stylish" - hey, I got 33.3% (recurring) right there - I'll leave you to guess which.

  29. Um, you know, I actually don't see the problem with her statement. Basically she said she likes nerdy guys, but not the ones who don't know how to take care of themselves, that's all. I don't see it as a bad thing that she's honest about what she likes.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Im with her. I like hot girls with a preference to nerds. And if they have a slight drinking problem, like me, all the better.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think nerds ARE hot! And IMHO, Comic, Video Game, Sci Fi and/or zombie shirts are stylish... so basically, all I need is a nerd...

  32. I like Republicans. Y'know, as long as they're sympathetic to the lower class, deeply concerned about global warming, and generous when it comes to funding public works projects.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Maybe it's just a relative thing. She likes nerds so some nerds are "hot" to her. Sense of style? It could mean owns more than 1 pair of pants.
