While buying MAGIC cards...

Sounds like a laugh riot and I'm sure his
"friends" love having him around.

  7. The real magic here is that this guy has any friends at all.
(though I'm guessing the "friends" he mentions are only annoying figments of his own little mind.)

  11. In school, I had a classmate that played a magic related prank that backfired. He took someones magic cards and hid them in his locker. Little did he know, it was about $800 worth of magic cards. The magic players got him kicked out of school. Don't fuck with those magic kids.

  12. "Friend's" is accurate enough. Mr. Tim has no way of knowing whether this gentleman was referring to multiple friends or one friend. Perhaps he is playing the pronoun game in order to create speculation about whether or not he associates with males or females. Perhaps his friend is a transgendered individual and he is uncomfortable with assigning a gender-specific pronoun to them.

Alternatively, you could just accept that this is a one-panel comic posted on the internet to entertain people and that Mr. Tim has no aspirations to literary perfection in his work. Language is just a tool. Grammar nazis are tools too, but in a more negative colloquial context.

  13. Yes, "friend's" may be correct, but grammar nazis are the coolest, and Zukah needs to be hit with a tool.

  14. People still play Magic? That's so lame. All the cool kids are playing Cthulhu nowadays.

  15. At random when playing Magic (when I still did)...my goal in the game was that every player die...self included

I'd build up in power, build up my defenses as normal, make alliances...so on and so forth...

and then I'd play a hurricane and pump just enough mana in it to kill everyone but me....

I'd let it sink in a little bit....

then I'd pour all the rest of the mana in:

"everybody dies, game over, no one wins"

the fun part was no one knew quite when I'd be in apocalypse mode, and I'd proven capable of getting simul-kills in any color
