Loudly he told me...

And yes, he really said 'drawrin'.

  1. You should have handed him a pen and a kleenex and see how long it took him to figure it out.

  2. I shudder to think how this guy would have reacted had he been in any of my "drawrin" classes in Art School during our life drawing (nude model) classes!

  3. This is one of those guys who makes you immediately think of a guy that you know who would say the exact same type of thing.

  7. There are many things one can say to criticize this young man, but I think the Dragon Ball shirt does the job for us.

  8. ...It would be sweet to be perpetually horny and not be able to do anything about it because you have a deadline to meet?

    OK THEN!

  9. I swear the t-shirts are the best thing about your comics, MRTIM.

  12. i've been drawing comics since 1995. it's not that "hot". it's like drawing a shoe or anything else. looking at the drawings of other artists can be fun though. but your own stuff just isn't the same.

i guess it'd be like being a gay man and seeing yourself naked in the mirror, it does nothing for you, but seeing someone else would.

  13. It's aesthetics versus sexual attraction - the statue of David is a work of art, not something to get a boner over. I'm sure the artist DOES bring a level of sexuality to the work, or there wouldn't be so many warrior bimbos with huge, ridiculous tits and wearing high heels - but I wouldn't call it "getting horny" as much as working with the aesthetic. In short: I think women are incredibly beautiful and love to drawr them, but I don't want to do anything with them, ink, plastic, or real.

  14. Actually, read an interview with Adam Hughes that said he knew female anatomy so well, when he was drawing he looked on women purely technically, like a gynecologist would.

  15. Frank Miller does, at any rate.

  16. Tigerama, I'm now imagining Michaelangelo sculpting David with a MASSIVE erection, quietly chuckling to himself, all proudly unveiling it in the middle of Florence to his completely horrified patrons.

  17. I find the humor in the panel because it seems natural for an outsider to think it's hot but once you get in that classroom, you're just seeing shapes and objects.

  19. As an artist, yes, sometimes I get horny to what I am drawing. It can be distracting to say the least.

  20. I read an interview with Mike Oeming where he mentioned his past career in porn comics. (Edward Penishands!) And yes, he'd get himself excited and jerk off. Doesn't knowing that make all the sexy ladies in the comics so much hotter?
