Regarding the news of DISNEY buying LUCASFILM...

  1. Never heard of the soulfulness of Greedo before.

  2. Didn't Lucas already do this, like around 1977?

  3. As opposed to what Lucas has been doing? Really?

  4. I must be quite the dope. I don't even know if that comment is supposedly dumb because 1) star wars has already being turned to some soulless commercial bullshit, 2) star wars has always been some soulless commercial bullshit, 3) disney doesn't always produce soulless commercial bullshit. Please make me less dopey and help me tick the right answer(s) here.

    1. Nah, Disney has really had a Midas touch with these kinds of things as of late. They've been a massive boon to Marvel and they're smart enough to stay out of the business of creating and stick to the business of marketing, which has always been their strong suit.

    2. @Ernest
Because they did soooo well with Princess of Mars.

    3. Compare John Carter to say, the Avengers and everything else Disney has made a real effort to market and yeah, I'd say Disney know what they're doing.

    4. Avengers was Disney providing the production cash and then taking a step back to let Marvel do it's thing. John Carter was just Disney being Disney, and boy did it ever show. With Star Wars if Disney takes over completely, they're going to screw it up. And if they follow the Marvel success strategy and take a step back and let Lucas do his thing, well he'll most likely screw it up as well.

    5. i'm feeling optimistic about disney's star wars. how bad could it possibly be, compared to george lucas' revised & prequelized versions of star wars? if bringing a new and different creative perspective to star wars doesn't pan out, then perhaps at the very least they'll dig out the original films and give them the proper high-definition home video preservation that george lucas has withheld from the fans for many years. i just can't help thinking, in light of the shabby treatment lucasfilm has given to the original films & the outright artistic laziness of the prequels, the franchise has been in such a pitiful state that it can only get better from here.

  9. Does anyone else remember the early '80s movie The Black Hole? It was Disney's version of Star Wars.

    1. It was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in Space.

Disney also did some great movies then (Return to Oz e Something Wicked This Way Comes, Watcher in the Woods) .

  10. Everyone should relax. I mean what's the worst possible thing Disney could do to Star Wars? Digitally re-edit it to make Greedo shoot first? That would be retarded.

    Oh, wait…

  11. Most of these comments are essentially "I didn't understand the whole point of the comic is she was saying something stupid so I'm going to point out that she was saying something stupid. What a moron she is!".

  12. This doesn't need an "It's True" tag.
It needs a "Too Late" tag.

  13. The 6 real episodes are true art, but the peripheral fluff has been annoying me for years.

  14. What is Disney going to do? Add a blatantly racist and annoying character or put in a bunch of cute, furry creatures?

  15. HA HA HA, OH WOW.

    Need I say more?

  16. Actually, you know what would be mind-blowing? Disney promptly UNDOES the Special Editions and releases the real, authentic, original editions with NO changes, on DVD. Wouldn’t that just be the last thing you’d expect? ☺

  17. I so wish that was a Star Wars hoodie. It would just sweeten the foolishness.
