Since most of my comics are in the independants section (green pages), I should check that Previews list of what comes out each week to make sure that a) it IS out and b) when (not if) Diamond shortchanges my comic shop, I can ask right away for a re-order.
Hey, this should be a Saturday or Sunday thing. Just, one strip out of the week, a genuinely nice person content with what they're buying. Just to stave off that ever-encroaching concern that there's no good people left on the planet.
It's funny that this is the ONLY "good guys" tag on the whole site, although at least one or two others probably qualify, like the kid wishing his Superman t-shirt gave him Superman's powers.
Love the good guys
ReplyDeleteCant argue with that!
ReplyDeleteThat warms my heart. Glad to see everyone who comes into your store isn't a complete jag.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly how I felt a couple of years ago when I when to my local comic book store in middle of a snow storm.
ReplyDeleteThere are websites one can check ahead of time to see which comics are coming out that week, but that just spoils the surprise.
ReplyDeleteJust found a new comic book store that's awesome and I know I'll be just like this guy when I go in. Glad you have some good peeps who come in too!
ReplyDeleteI dig the snarky and misanthropic slice of life that usually fills this space, but you really can't beat the occasional flat-out *pleasant* ones.

"Customer, what is best in life?"
ReplyDelete"To Trek all the way down here, go through the shit weather, and see all your favorite comic books came out."

ReplyDeleteVery upbeat. Makes me feel better about my shitty day.
ReplyDeleteYou can tell Mr.Tim was happy with this guy by the fact that he didn't draw his zits.
ReplyDeleteReally cool to see a positive, fun one. Thanks.
