While discussing DC COMIC's most recent massive, company wide reboot...

  2. I thought the original "Crisis on Infinite Earths" was a bad idea. I never thought the multiple Earths thing was that hard to keep track of. However, it was a good story even with Kara's death. The aftermath, though, is pretty much why I gave up on DC comics starting about 1989 (well, that and starting a family).

Now I have to wonder about who's running DC and Marvel nowadays. These massive reboots have just become ludicrous. How do you become interested in and stay invested in a character whose very origin changes every couple of years? Granted, having 80 years of back story with which you have to remain consistent would be like a straight jacket. That was part of the beauty of the Earth-1, Earth-2 thing. Even failing that, I should think a reboot every half century or so would be enough to clear out the underbrush.

Maybe that's why I'm not running a comic book company.
