  3. The biggest joke football fans say is "lol you so bandwagon" if the team was real garbage (ie the Seahawks going from shit to Amazing"

  5. Yeah, I gotta side (somewhat) with "Nerd on the Left" ... Being a bandwagon fan is pretty much frowned upon by football fans (or fans of any sport, for that matter).

I remember back in high school, the big thing in New England was to wear Dallas Cowboy jerseys ("football shirts", tee hee) ... Was that because anyone in my high school was originally from Texas? Nope, they just wanted to associate themselves with a winning team (this was before the Patriots' rise to prominence).

  6. I'd think that sort of ebb and flow would be pretty standard for football fans.

Not many people are into the pre-season stuff where everybody's getting sorted into their teams and such.

By the time you get to the superbowl the whole nation's watching though. Advertising at the superbowl is a whole thing because it's just night and day the viewers in comparison to any other game. Everybody's cheering for one of the two remaining teams even though most of these people were nowhere to be seen for most of the year.

Star Wars similarly has a situation where some shit's bigger than other shit. The movies are big. If the only people who got excited about The Force Awakens were the diehards who have a bookshelf full of Star Wars Novels then The Force Awakens could not have been the movie it is.
