While discussing new GHOSTBUSTERS movies...

  1. Sorry to be that guy, but if we would say the same about the female cast (being old and fat), this would have been sexist.

    1. And Golden Girls would have been a much better TV show if they were in their 20's and hot.

    2. Well, if you're going to be the guy who suggests that casting a well-represented group in a film is totally equivalent to casting a demographic that is not actually nearly as well-represented in films, then I guess I'm going to have to be the guy who tells you that your analogy is stupid.

I can name plenty of big-budget Hollywood movies that prominently feature men who are old, overweight, or both. Lots fewer that prominently feature women who fit those same criteria. Hell, lots fewer that feature women of any age or weight class.

    3. I need to buy you a drink sometime Mr. Thad for putting it far more eloquently than I could. Mine would have contained more swears.

  2. I don't want any new Ghostbusters movie with anyone in it. I've been saying this since Dan "Blues Brothers 2000" Aykroyd first started spouting off about a new film back in 1996.

    1. I agree. The original was a masterpiece, the sequel, less so. Can't we just leave it at that? Does Hollywood have to remake everything? What is left to say about scientists catching ghosts in New York?

  3. In Winston's defense, Ernie Hudson is still jacked and sexy

  4. We already got a sequel with the original Ghostbusters in video game form. And despite being a game based on a movie, it was actually good.
