He does bring up an interesting point; are the nerds enabling capitalism's horrible decision to manufacture plastic tchotchkes that serve almost no purpose and will live in landfills forever, or is capitalism enabling the nerd's horrible decision to buy collectibles that are just physical manifestations of "Likes," as if their living rooms are just big facebook pages?
