  4. I think he means "Independent" the same way Minecraft or Super Meat Boy is "Independent". Small budget, big payoff.

    1. I don't think either Fight Club or the first Matrix qualify as "small budget". I think what he means is "not part of a pre-existing franchise or based on a book or comic book or TV show or...".
