Except they are COMPLETELY wrong. The Riddler has a compulsion to leave riddles and puzzles for the police and Batman to try and solve in order to catch him. He doesn't "rob a place and put question marks everywhere". Incidentally, nothing about any of this leads to the conclusion that Riddler is a terrible villain. Having a trademark or calling card is pretty standard for all of Batman's villains. Maybe these kids have not been exposed to enough stories, or maybe they are just parroting something someone else said, or maybe they are just bullshitting off the cuff as people often do. But at the end of the day their remarks about the character are factually inaccurate and deminstrate a lack of understanding about the character
Conversely, all Batman would have to do to get Mr. Nigma to knock it off permanently is let him win one for a change. Once the Riddler proves he's smarter than the Bat he'd be satisfied and find some other hobby.
But Bruce Wayne's ego won't allow that. What a dick.
Well, yeah. I suppose umbrella marks on the floor and stray playing cards might be tip offs as well...world's greatest detective my left buttcheek.
ReplyDeleteNooooo! The Riddler is my favorite! He...he just can't help himself.
ReplyDeleteI too love the Riddler. His episodes were always the most interesting ones on Batman: The Animated Series.

DeleteI hate to say it but they're not wrong. From the mouth of babes and all that.
