To his friend...

  1. Aw, man. My parents made it through The Avengers up to the point where Loki's in the cell and Black Widow is about to have one of her coolest moments, and decided they'd rather go to bed instead of carry on with the boring movie they weren't clicking with. My dad came out of Guardians of the Galaxy going "Well, that was a thing that happened, I guess." I'd trade that for endless questions in a heartbeat.

  2. Kid shoulda picked better parents.

Also is he sure he's not talking about his grandparents? Because I recently had to spend ten minutes explaining to my boy who Howard the Duck is. Also Cosmo.

  3. Well, if those guys stopped wearing masks all the time, for starters...

  4. Took my dad to see The Avengers. He LOVED it; still cracks up at Hulk beating up Loki.

  5. But think how smart you look, telling them all that information!

  6. Could be worse. I saw Batman Begins with my dad. Everything he knew about Batman came from reading some of the really early comics and seeing the Tim Burton version. He kept insisting that Batman kills people all the time. That was the longest argument about nothing I've ever had.

  7. I know this feels, but with siblings. I was the only one in the house who read LoTR when the movies originally came out so imagine versions of "OK BUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!" before and after every movie. Same for most of the comic book movies too. Save GotG because I knew jack shit about them anyway.

  8. poor baby. he's been deprived of the wonderful experience of having parents who think everything that he likes is complete garbage & go out of their way to make sure he's aware of their disapproval.
