Why not have Elmer Fudd collapse into alcoholism and commit suicide after killing Bugs Bunny while he (bugs) is in drag? That would sure be shocking.
Bugs has helped conscience-stricken would-be hunters blow their brains out before, and Elmer's been seen dragging it around town as a derelict. It would just be a slightly different combination of events.
We enjoy it when a comic goes down in price or when a bad artist/ writer goes away.
