While dismissing her friend's excitement...

  1. It's true, though.

    1. No it isn't

    2. I have a three-decade long hate-on for Doc Who... and even I wouldn't compare it to garbage reality shows.

    3. After Tom Baker it's absolutely true. Nothing but a string of tryhards, placeholders, and the dish of the day.

    4. You are more wrong than anybody has ever been ever. Davidson was just as great in his own way and the rest have all had their shining moments of awesome. C. Baker's work on his Big Finish audio productions have been one of the best stories of the entire franchise, with McGann's being not far behind. Smith's Troughton-esque moments were a delight for some of us long time (pre t-baker) fans too.

    5. Tom Baker was my first doctor, so he holds a special place. Most of the others have been good in their own way. In fact, the only two Doctors I actually don't like are William Hartnell (yeah, I know, but he was a grumpy old man) and Colin Baker. David Tennant is probably my #2. All of that having been said, a new judge on American Idol is probably as exciting to American Idol fans as a new Doctor is to Whovians. It's a matter of taste. If you don't like the show then you won't care about a new judge or a new Doctor. I feel ridiculous even having to say this but it's a matter of taste, guys. There's no right or wrong here.

    6. Diane, your comment made me smile. David Tennant is my first (and favorite) Doctor and Tom Baker is my #2.

    7. Whoa. Uptight nerds coming out of the woodwork.

Diane, you're absolutely right. They're both equally pointless.

Are you joking? Davison literally WAS the dish of the day.

  2. See, it's not true! Dr Who fans are much more virulent and bitter than American Idol fans.

  3. Adults getting mad about children's TV shows? Dr. Who fans are just bronies who don't wanna have sex with horses

    1. By that logic so are Disney/Pixar fans and people who still read superhero comics.

    2. Not really. Pixar produces a whole slew of different movies, and the superhero genre is divided across different companies, and so many heroes no human being in existence can name them all. Bronies and Whovians excessively obsess over one single property, and whine loudly when someone suggets it's maybe a little creepy/maladjusted/autistic.

And then there's this fucking thing: http://shirtoid.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/doctor-whooves-line.jpg
