  1. He's going to hate the new pilot I'm shooting. It's called "Hanes Beefy Tee."

  3. And that's why I don't wear my Green Arrow shirts much anymore.

    1. Arrow is pretty good though,
I'm a judgmental asshole and I'm enjoying it.
And slightly perturbed I have to wait another week for Barry Allen.

I just write it off as an alternate universe for character discrepancy. Because it is.

    2. Completely unrelated but, in my opinion one of the strengths of Arrow is that the actor playing Olier Queen seems to know how to actually draw a bow. Hawkeye in the Avengers would be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn.

  4. The funny thing is that I have yet to observe anyone put forth a legitimate argument as to what is wrong with the show. It's cheesy, yes. It's even a bit formulaic, yes. But so far, beyond that, I haven't heard anything beyond [Insert Superhero Here] is not on it," "They should've done this and that," "They couldn't afford so-and-so to appear regularly," and all the usual malarkey that people present. The one common factor here, however, is that they failed to recognise that the full title of the show is "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Not "Marvel's Superheroes of S.H.I.E.L.D.", "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

    2. Sky being a pretty standard 90's stock hacker character being attempted in a show from 2013 certainly doesn't help.

Neither does the adoption of the standard ABC aesthetic that makes the show look like its from 2007 despite the fairly good effects. And its not a matter of budget, just style. It can't really be defended when you can switch a couple of channels and see things like Hannibal and the way that it is shot, the quality of the acting, etc.

The show may not be about superheroes but it still has yet to live up to is promise of exploring and expanding the marvel universe in any particularly exciting or interesting way. The episode with Gravitron or the Chitauri helmet episodes weres a good start and I would like to see more things along those lines. How hard would have really been to dig up a smaller fire based character instead of making up "Scorch"?

The show is also saddling itself upon trying to milk the whole Coulson chemistry and everyone else's "surprisingly tragic back story" TM. The whole Tahiti thing has been long drawn out. Basically it is breaking on of Joss Whedon's own oft repeated lines of advice "Play all of your cards early, it forces you to come up with new cards."
