While discussing the importance of writing ONLY negative reviews of comic books on his blog...

  1. If something is genuinely bad (All-Star Batman), it makes sense to give a humorously negative review of it. When you do that to every piece of media you see, it doesn't make you seem clever. It just makes you seem like a real jerk.

Although I think I just paraphrased an earlier OVC.

    1. I don't think All-Star Batman and genuinely bad deserve to be in the same sentence. Genuinely awesome maybe, but defintiely not bad though.

  2. So, it's actually a public service. I'm SO relieved...

    1. Right, because he famously hates everything. Batman especially.

    2. Sims is one of the most enthusiastic, excitable writers on the net. He dislikes what he dislikes, strongly, and plays up on that, true, but except if he's specifically given an assignment to watch/read things he doesn't like (like the movie reviews or worst of netflicks) or if such things come up via `ask chris', he hardly seeks out things to criticise (aside from things he has a love/hate relationship with like Tarot & Funkywinkerbean). Most of his self-driven work is about the things he loves (wrestling, dracular, cobra, batman, kamen rider, jack staff, kirby, etc). if it feels to you like he only writes negative things, it maybe that you just have different taste, and tend to read the articles of his about things that you like but he doesn't?

  5. I am slightly tempted to search out this guy's blog, but I don't actually want to give him another hit.... I am in quite a pickle.

    1. He had episodes featuring comics that he liked, so no.
