  5. I am a waste of space, but at least I [am older / speak without accent / have a penis / have the full support of my imaginary deity / have the same skin colour as the guy who invented airplane / have the same passport as the guys who pushed that ball into that net twice instead of once like the other guys / can kill from further away than that deer can / have a level 32 elf archwitch / can decide to put a stamp on this paper or not / can dedicate more time than you to a forum argument / make more noise with my motorcycle than you with your bike / salute the most common flag in this country / still have both my legs haha].

    My favorite kind of human.

  6. Had something like this happen to my kid a year ago. Now he's afraid of the comic book store and we just get them at the grocery store or Barnes & Noble.

p.s. MrTim, if this happened at your store I hope you banned this guy for life.

    1. EXACTLY.

Comic book stores do not need any more of a reputation as a hangout for mean guys while anyone else who wants to buy comics without being harassed should go online. The best way to fight this is for the store owners to not let mean guys harass other customers while hanging out there...

    2. I had something like this happen to me when I was a kid ... not some jerkass customer making me cry or anything, but the guy behind the counter being an uppity twat about the superheroes I liked and making me feel like an idiot for thinking Spider-Man was cool (as a character) during the clone saga, which I didn't know anything about. A living Comic Book Nerd if I ever saw one.

    3. I can happily jokingly trash people and friends my age (28) for liking stuff I don't like and vice versa, but picking on a kid? No way man. If I ever worked at a comic store and witnessed someone being like this, I'd shove a copy of Youngblood #1 in his mouth then trip him over on the way out.

  7. You kick people out when you catch them doing this crap, right? (Maybe that should be a tag: "yeah he got kicked out")

    1. I was just thinking that if I had a comic book store, that would be a banning offense.

  8. Confused me for a moment. Thought he meant 7 or 8 on the hotness scale. Just wasn't registering that he was talking about verbally berating a child for displaying an interest in superheroes.

  11. Just when I was wondering if I'd *ever* see any of this purported 'maturity' and 'intelligence' in the 'sequential art' fandom...

  12. And as he lay dying, he couldn't understand why someone shot him in the head
