Yes, If you remove the 'Music' and 'Talent' from your statement, it is. (And on behalf of the UK: America, we're sorry this tripe ever crossed the pond.)
You've obviously never been lectured on thread counts in sheets, what percale means, sheer versus satin in curtains, whether or not a room is a "summer" or an "autumn" and so on. And on and on.
Women do the same exact crap, but usually on other things than comics.
Being lectured on that stuff happens in relationships. Girls aren't shocked when dudes don't know what Marie Claire is.
Yes, we are all geeks, even if your geek is more "normal" like sports or fashion. How anal are you about people not knowing trivia or facts about your geek?
To be fair, all those things you mentioned - sheets, curtains, interior design - are REAL. The difference between X-Force and X-Factor is minutiae of minutiae.
Yes, making your house look better, or what clothes you buy is far more important than comic book trivia, but there are trivial facts around interior design or fashion as well, to be fair on top of your fairness.
She would have wanted to know the difference between X-Force and X-Factor, until he said he was going to *make* her know the difference between X-Force and X-Factor.
I used to collect all of the X-comics from the mid 90s to 2007 when I stopped collecting comics*. And I just realized I have no idea what the difference is between X Force and X Factor. New X Men, Uncanny X Men, and Astonishing X Men are the same team with different writers. Mutant X was (one of) the neat alternate reality series. Excalibur is the British team. Exiles is Sliders with Mutants. New Mutants / Generation X / whatever they're calling it now is the new generation (until they're all murdered by bad writers).
But... hmm... One of them was the one Cable started and hasn't been involved with for years, and the other one is the one the original five X Men started but haven't been involved with for years. And I really can't remember which is which for certain.
One thing I do remember for sure is that the best mutant ever was Beak. If I find out they killed him off-panel for "Oh Noez! Humanz donut liek mutanz! Dey am krazy predgudized rasecist murderererz!" style "shock value" I think I might firebomb the Marvel offices.
*I still buy paperback and hardback collections, but I don't drop $80 on new comics every wednesday at the local comic shop anymore.
Is that how he talks to his wife?
ReplyDeleteOh, wait. Nevermind.
Doesn't know or doesn't care?
ReplyDeleteIsn't the X-Factor a music talent show on Fox?
ReplyDeleteYes, If you remove the 'Music' and 'Talent' from your statement, it is. (And on behalf of the UK: America, we're sorry this tripe ever crossed the pond.)
ReplyDeleteI accept your apology
DeleteI feel like this same guy (or at least this same drawing of a guy) has been on this blog a couple of times so far.
ReplyDeleteI feel like someone named Anonymous has already been on this site a couple thousand times so far.
DeleteI feel that Anonymous is a really cool guy. He doesn't have names and doesn't afraid of anything.
DeleteI wish females would do this crap to us as much as we do it to them. That way, I wouldn't feel so embarrassed.

we all geek out about something… I've got the thread count thing for shirts, the higher the count the more comfortable

DeleteThe context is all wrong. These are two unrelated sentences. This guy is asking for help.
ReplyDeletePlease, for god's sake, how do you talk to her? Tell me, I'm begging you. How do you talk to a girl without having to go pee pee?
This was the first thing I thought well.

I used to spend $75, god, 3 years ago now, every month. wow....
What do you mean "If I find out" Find out. Go buy those comics. SPOILERS they haven't retconned the reason he's died since then.
DeleteTechnically Cable has X-Force again(It's OK) and All-New X-Men?(Is X-Factor-ish, I guess. Its really SW6 Legion by Bendis...)
