  6. There's a fair amount of Chinese food I'm not crazy about, but I will punch an old man in the throat for some good beef & broccoli served over brown rice.

  8. Sounds like my Father. Only thing he eats when out is Gammon, Egg and Chips. Washed down with Lager. Always, without fail.

    1. With a population that big, you have to do *something* with all those corpses.

  10. Maybe he is using the word "regular" in reference to the food's fiber content.

  11. Regular food, like over-processed meat served with a slice of American "cheese."

    1. As much as I enjoy Chinese food, I do lament it's lack of cheesy options. It's pretty much just in wontons. And I love me some F'n cheese.

    2. Any cheese-filled wontons aren't Chinese at all. There's no cheese at all in Chinese cuisine.

  12. Funniest part to me is that most Chinese food is Americanized and pretty darn bland.

  16. Several years ago a bunch of friends went to dinner after a con at a Chinese restaurant. One of my friends is one of those "regular food" guys... or at least, he likes whatever he ate growing up in upstate New York, preferably with ketsup on it. Anyway at this Chinese restaurant he ordered... the salisbury steak, the only non-Chinese thing on the menu. The waiter even tried to convince him not to... "it's been in the freezer a long time, it's probably old, are you really sure?" But no, that's all he wanted, something that wasn't Chinese. (And this was a very Americanized Chinese restaurant too).

  18. Just like to point out here that the local awesome Chinese restaurant which serves Gods Own Pan Fried Noodles also does an absolutely amazing Steak, Egg, and Chips. Go figure.

And most of the kitchen staff are Mexican. Go figure again.

  20. Chinese food is pretty irregular where I live. It's really only available in two or three fancy restaurants. Or I guess if you're one of the lucky one in a thousand or so who might know someone who knows how to cook it.

Still, normal people who only trust normal food scare me.
