    1. I would kill for a SCUD shirt. Or, at the very least, maim and then do odd jobs to pay the hospital bills.

  3. I agree. Sometimes I look at high issue numbers and it gives me something like a sense of accomplishment. Then I have to start all over with a relaunch.

  5. It's always funny for me when you feature younger people like this who haven't experienced these types of things multiple times already...
And people wonder how/why us older comic book readers are such cynical assholes about everything The Big Two do- give it fifteen years; you'll understand.

  7. What I always loved about high issue numbers was the sense of history. When you saw the huge numbers on Action Comics and Detective Comics, you knew you were holding something that connected right back to the Golden Age. To see those set back to #1 with the New 52 was like watching an idiot child deface an Old Master.

  8. It'd be nice if comics were in numerical order. 1 - 652, then a different 1 - 26 and then back to 653 - 826 and then 1 - 57 and then 827 oh my god make it stop make it stop.

  9. But think of all those millions you will make off of them! #1's are serious business.

  10. What if comics didn't have numbers at all?

    1. Then they'd have to put the date on the cover every time so you could keep track of the issues/reading order/release dates... And where will we be when Marvel or DC tries to reboot us back to the 1960s?
