To her boyfriend...

You are just awful.

  1. Huh, I didn't know this level of stupid had been reached by a human yet.

  2. I think I'm going to link this illustration to everyone I come across who pirates games and movies while insisting they're on the level with Robin Hood or Che Guevara.

    1. Yeah, I'm sure those people exist outside of your strawman.

    2. I pirate things because I can. Why would you knowingly spend money on something when you can get it for free? So you can feel self-righteous? I don't know.

    3. Because Che Guevara was an awesome guy who totally didn't murder political prisoners or send young homosexual boys to forced labor camps while telling them that "work would make a man out of them."

    4. Some people like to support people whose products they use. If someone makes good movies/video games/ comic books, why wouldn't I want to support them so they can make more?

    5. Che Guevara was a mass-murdering Communist. I'm pretty sure that people whose worst crime is pirating copyrighted material are much, much better human beings than he.

This. It's stupid to pirate things you enjoy, unless you don't want to see more of those things. Beyond that, I generally like getting paid for my job, so I assume other people do, too.

    7. Dear Butthurts: The key part of the phrase is "while insisting they're on the level with Robin Hood or Che Guevara."

I upload stuff myself, but only things someone in the US simply cannot get by any other reasonable means--a popular movie with a restored "lost" audio track, for example, or a Japanese TV series with custom subs, a movie only found on VHS, a promotional soundtrack that was never marketed, or some rare long-out-of-production CD that can't be found anywhere for under seventy bucks. Even THAT's morally debatable.

The biggest jerks in the pirating game, aside from the ME JUST UPLOADED NEW CINEMATIC TITANIC ME AM INTERNET HERO morons, are the WHY PAY WHEN I CAN STEAL IT U CANT STOP ME HURF HURF HURF

    8. "Why would you knowingly spend money on something when you can get it for free?"

Because believe it or not, some people aren't pathetic, broke losers who feel entitled to whatever they want without paying for it. Crazy, right?

    1. Maybe a new label of "Just Awful" would be appropriate here.

  4. Too awful for a label, I think.

    1. I thought so, too. But you can't expect nuance here, I guess.

    2. Because meth dealers make the world such a better place, amirite?

Sheesh. Sadly the idiot in the comic is not alone apparently.

    3. Anon 2:07: I agree completely, although you should've expected it! It's the comments section of a comic about comics on the internet that mentions drugs - the only shocking thing is that they stopped giggling long enough to rally the defence of Ms. Pinkfan.

  6. I was going to say that she must be on Crack...but that is pretty obvious already.

  7. I'm tempted to do my usual snark of "the future of America" but seriously... she pretty obviously doesn't have much of a future, so...

  8. Wow... did my comments seriously get censored? Wow...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Well, she looks like a druggie, so not real shocking.

  10. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt, and assume she's talking about dealers who deal one specific drug, like marijuana, which has been shown to be beneficial, and is a lot safer than some legal drugs. No one's died from a marijuana overdose, but you can't say that for alcohol.

    1. My least favorite defense of the legalization of pot is "because it's less dangerous than alcohol." All that really does is make me want to make alcohol illegal again. Pot should be legalized on its own merits, not in comparison to another harmful substance. If you can't do that, then you're smoking too much weed.

      That's because you're a moron.

I grew up with people like that during the 1970s/1970s. I'm very happy to report that none of them ever got older than forty.

    1. Jesse Pinkman makes television a better place; it's not exactly the same as making the world a better place.

  15. I hate people who ty to justify pirateing. Ive done it, I owe possibly thousands of dollars to various entertainment companies, i owe at least 300 to image comics. but I never once fooled myself into thinking I was part of some intellectual property revolution. I was just a kid with no money who wanted to watch movies and read comics. And Anon 2:33 is right, Jesse and Walter make the world a better place.

    1. I don't try to justify it in any other means other than if I download a film or a television episode and I like it, I will actually go out and buy the film or the series and tell all my friends it's worth their money... if more people did that, there wouldn't be such a problem (other than risking your money on something that could be crap rather than downloading, I suppose), but I guess the overly entitled people out there think they deserve something for nothing...

    2. "but I guess the overly entitled people out there think they deserve something for nothing..."

Like the ones who only buy a movie or TV episode after they've watched it? Yeah, those self-entitled douche bags can eat a dick.

Matt M. : I agree with you, but in my circle of the world people who sell weed aren't referred to as "drug dealers" so much as "my dude." But overall this is a weird comments thread.

  21. so i guess i'm the only one who actaully found this week's strip humorous????

this comic went completely off the rails from a harmless joke about what can only be assumed was a bad pot joke to a vitriolic back and forth commentary on the issue of online piracy???

anybody wearing a P!NK concert tee isn't doing anything harder than pot, a harmless natural drug if taken responsibly.

  22. and kudos to mr. tim for never getting involved in the idiotic back and forth of his sometimes less than considerate online commentators and simply doing what he does best: producing art!

  23. WayneTech probably produces more misery on a global scale than a hundred drug dealers. (and does Tony Stark still make weapons?)

  25. See how much better your comic is when you don't use tags?

  26. You're arguing in complete seriousness that all drug dealers do so much good that they're comparable to superheroes?

Let me quote Marty from Cabin in the Woods here: "Are you HIGH?"
