To his Mom while he threw a shrieking fit...

  1. I don't presently have kids. But if that happened to me, every video game in the house would be donated to poor/sick children who could actually appreciate them within an hour of returning home.

    2. Better idea. Ditch the ungrateful little pustule and spend all the time and money you now have on some videogames.

  2. Grrr....that kind of kid makes me furious. I think I would have told the mother, in front of the kid, if he A. Didn't apologize to her for calling her what he did and B. Learn to controll himself he would no longer be allowed in the store. Not worth it.

  3. Hahaha- Ohhh, the way you drew that kid... it looks like he's about to start convulsing and his head is gonna implode, that's fuckin' priceless!
And a note to parents, especially single-mothers: Sometimes it is completely acceptable to beat the snot out of your kids, THIS would be an acceptable time...

  4. I wish I could slap that kid through this caricature on my computer screen... I cannot stand disrespectful children, or the idiot parents that allow them to be this way.

  5. How old was the kid? 9? 10? How do you think he became such a loud, obnoxious spoiled brat? Look in the mirror mom.

  6. Technically, this should also be tagged with "It's true", right? I mean, if she hadn't said that they couldn't go to gamestop, he wouldn't have flipped out... Just saying...

  7. Wow. That kid's going to grow up to be a world-class manipulative asshole, and Dan Savage is going to end telling his poor girl- or boyfriend to DTMFA.

  8. I hope someone there said, "No, we are staring because you are a loud whiny brat.

  9. I DID rear four children, and I can promise you that if they had ever had a meltdown like this, that would have been the last time we ever went out.

    Good grief!

  10. Not to sound old but if I did that as a kid I'd leaving that store in an ambulance

    1. -Man, I was right there with you on that...
Don't act a fool or you fucking get beat down. It's a valuable lesson.

    2. My parents would've waited until we were in the car. Save money on ambulance fair that way.

    3. Yeah, I would have never DREAMED of doing something like that when I was a kid (or now, and I'm 50). I'd have been eating my teeth, and rightly so.

  11. I disagree with you all. She was definitely being a huge bitch.

  12. "How old was the kid? 9? 10? How do you think he became such a loud, obnoxious spoiled brat? Look in the mirror mom."

Either that or "look at your [husband/fiancé/boyfriend/baby daddy], mom."

  13. Those looks like zits on his face, so I'm going with 13-15. Alternatively known as, old enough to fucking know better.

  14. O.O... Jeebus kid! The kind of shit kids get away with these days. If I had spoke like that to my mom, she'd not only pop me in the mouth, but will put the strap to my ass in front of everyone and there are few things more humiliating than getting an ass whuppin in front of people.

  15. These kinds of OVC entries are always hilarious. Dampened a bit by reading the comments by all the virgins and their stellar parenting techniques.

I *knew* this one would be full of weirdos encouraging terrible physical violence on children. I don't know why I read them all. Masochism, I guess.

    1. I *knew* there would be some bleeding heart getting uppity about smacking children.

Also, I'm married. No children yet, but we're working on it *waggles eyebrows*.

And I'm going to take "weirdo" as a compliment, because I'd rather be a weirdo than a pretentious whiner.

    2. If you unironically use the term "bleeding heart", along with "uppity", "pretentious" or any variant of "politically correct", it's a sure sign you have nothing of value to say or think.

Sorry for your spouse. Or maybe you two are made for each other.

    3. Yeah- it IS funny to see a comic about a stupid, spoiled kid being a stupid, spoiled piece of shit... The novelty wares off, however- the more you think about how this actually HAPPENED.
That coupled with the fact that EVERYONE has SEEN something like this happen, to varying degrees, at some point while out at a store or what-have-you...
There is a MASSIVE difference between straight-up child abuse for the sake of abuse and actually disciplining an unruly child. Look- if your kids are well-behaved and respectful then good on you! You did a FANTASTIC job raising them and should be proud. But don't you dare get all holier-than-thou about it- if you think in cases like these that simply taking away their video-games or sending them to their room does any good at all- then YOU are the weirdo with "stellar parenting techniques" because chances are that kid was yours.
And to shut your ignorant assumptions up- I am not a virgin- or a child, I am 33 years old and I was a product of ACTUAL physical abuse as a child... So when I can sit here and say- that kid needed backhanded HARD the SECOND he called his Mother a bitch (LOUDLY AND IN PUBLIC, NO LESS) then understand- he REALLY deserved it. There is only so much 'liberal parenting' one can do- some kids need a stranger lesson than others. So MAN UP and make sure your kids are raised right by ANY means... It's you people who refuse to take care of this now that are sending the next generation of asshole douchebags into the world for everyone else to deal with...
Oh- and you were totally being pretentious about being so very "progressive" with your little comment there- looking down your nose at fucking REALITY.

    4. All I know is what my parents did to me. People talk about "Terrible Violence" but sometimes it's just discipline. Stops shit like this from happening.

Yes, by the third child they'd refined their methods to the point that physical violence was no longer a necessary disciplinary tool, but parents don't just wake up the morning after a baby pops out with perfect parenting skills. If you've got your act together and it's unnecessary then good for you. If that's your child though then clearly that's not the case.

    5. Hitting a child is not necessary to raise a good child; therefore, hitting a child for any reason isn't necessary and is generally the sign of a lazy parent. I find it funny that you think you can bring up alleged "actual" physical abuse as what? An excuse? Hey man, go ahead and proudly hit your kids but your post was at least as smug as the initial one.

    6. But raising a child needs to be an interactive experience because young kids cannot be reasoned with. They're too busy learning about the world. So sometimes a smack is require because it tells them straight off the bat that whatever it was that they did was wrong/bad/dangerous in a way they can understand instantly. Telling them to go sit in the corner and stare at the wall won't accomplish a thing.

When they get to an age where you can have a rational conversation (the word 'rational' varies depending on the indivdual), then you shouldn't need to resort to smacking any more.

  16. Usually it's grown people who throw a fit and say, "It's your fault that I did this!"

Wait, no, it's just kids and really immature adults.

  17. I find the word uppity very racist. Now I am offended! OVC comment board, 'Where Everyone Gets Angry'.

  18. My parent's wouldn't have beaten me, they'd just take away all my video games, my computer, banned me from watching TV or movies and sent me to my room for the summer. The pain lasts longer that way.

  19. how come this doesn't get tagged "monster children"?

    ReplyDelete
  20. If I'd have ever called my mom a bitch, it would have been my last day on Earth. What a little monster.

  21. If I called my mother a bitch, I'm pretty sure I would have been sleeping on the sidewalk. And also would not have been allowed to go to Game Stop again as long as I lived.

  22. Little fucker...
My father, bless his soul, would have used his belt on me if I would have dared to disrespect my mother or him like that!

  24. I bet the whiners want to "UNSCHOOL" their kids.

There has been a strong link between over-UNDER parenting and letting the child do whatever and serial killers/school shooters.

The columbine kids' parents were "WE HAD NO IDEA HERP DERP THEY WERE SUCH GOOD KIDS!!!!1" and so were the hammer murderers parents.

I was whipped, scolded, spanked and etc as a kid. I am the most responsible person I know. Ive went to 3 colleges now, graduated twice and am working on a third degree. Ive got money and a great outlook on life.

I dont like violence but spanking a kid (Dont use the word CHILD like they want to for affect.) isnt violence. Its whats necessary to show the kid that he cant do what he wants out in the real world. These kids think that they can just use violence to eliminate problem people at work and school. It dont work that way.

  26. I’ve never seen a kid act like that in public. Maybe my friend is right and there is something in the water here that makes us too mellow.
