  1. Does... does any part of that sentence make sense?

    1. I can confirm that no, no part of that sentence makes any sense whatsoever.

  2. Is she even speaking English?

    1. I recognize some of the words but the way they're put together is totally foreign to me. Perhaps it's code?

  3. I don't know what she means by "beta", unless it's just "not alpha".

I'm sure he'll be crushed when he finds out. Yippie ki yay!

  4. I read that in the voice of Mr. Crabs' daughter, Pearl.

  5. I'm glad that I'm not the only who doesn't understand any of that. I was beginning to feel old. Either that, or I fell into the alternate future timeline from Back to the Future Part 2.

It's just internet talk, not even 4chan. Beta as in 'Beta Male', as in not an 'Alpha Male'.

  9. Oooooh, so does she mean that because Alan Rickman's character dies at the end of Die Hard, she is angry with him and telling him that they can only just be friends? Because for a while I thought she was talking directly to the movie, which was really confusing me.

  10. I'm pretty sure Snape dies in the Betamax edition of Die Hard.

  11. I think she's joking. "Beta" and "Friend zone" are terms used by angry men who blame women for their repulsive personalities. I've never heard a woman actually use the terms - the fact that nobody here has heard of it is a strong argument that it hasn't entered common speech and she has to be making fun of them.

  12. She'd better not watch Robin Hood,Prince of Thieves, because Snape dies at the end of THAT one too! He'll...he'll be omega?
Seriously, I have no idea what she is even saying.

But I DO know that I adore Alan Rickman.

    Rowwrr!

      Amen to that, sister.

    1. Dude, it's been almost a decade now. Might as well say the customer spoiled Diehard.

    2. Not even five years yet, but your point's still valid. Not a spoiler anymore.

    3. Well, no reason to see Die Hard now... *sigh*

  14. In a sense, the subject is contextualised into a neodeconstructive desituationism that includes language as a reality. A number of sublimations concerning the textual paradigm of context exist.

    1. Despite your attempts at incomprehension, you still made more sense than the woman in the comic.

I've had a couple of hits from the bong, allegedly, and I think I get it.

She is commenting on what she sees as less than manly behavior or facial expressions during the death scene rather than the fact that he dies.

Since he's not longer an alpha male, rather a beta because of that performance, she is no longer sexually attracted to him. However she still thinks he's cool and would be friends with him. If only he knew she existed.

I think she is using the terms in an ironic manner. She is acknowledging that the the dreaded Friends Zone does exist.

  16. I understood that perfectly.
...I need to leave my house more.

  17. He dies in "Truly, Madly, Deeply" as well (well, technically he's dead all the way through it). I'm starting to see a pattern here...

    1. Actually, it's fair to say he's already dead by the beginning of it. He's just... still a character.

  18. I just threw up a little in my mouth. I really, REALLY hope she's being ironic. Either way, hearing a girl use creepy gross "pickup artist" lingo in any degree of seriousness is horrifying. It makes me wonder if the girls they're trying to pick up actually DO exist and aren't just some Nice Guy™ anger fantasy. And if they do, I weep for humanity.

  19. The real question is, does that bizarre Captain America shirt actually exist or was that a bit of artistic license?

  20. Anon 8:03: It was probably a Tokidoki/MArvel shirt. Example: http://s9.thisnext.com/media/largest_dimension/3D8033ED.jpg

  21. the fact that there is an entire generation that will associate alan rickman as this snape character before HANS FUCKING GRUBER is kinda sad to me cuz it makes me feel old.

plus rickman was already dead in dogma.

    but he was an angel.

but he also had no genitals.

  22. Dem teef. WOOF.

  23. This reads like her dialogue was written by a 60 year old male writer from the 1950s trying to come up with that "hip" lingo the kids today talk in.

  24. There are the OVC cartoons that comfort me because they make me think, “Hey! I may not be very good at life, but at least I’m not as bad as that person!”

And then there are the ones that make me think, “Am I the only good person left in the world? Is this what society has come to?” Moral of the story: there is such a thing as too much schadenfreude.

  25. I don't know what this means. I am glad.

  26. Here I've been trying to tell people for years that "the friend zone" is ugly, hateful bullshit made up by boys who don't understand how human relationships work. Way to let the side down.
