  3. A) The 8 feet of snow.
    B) In the book and the TV miniseries, outside were the topiary hedge monsters.

What they said. Also, the hotel tried to stop them from leaving by affecting their minds, especially Jack.
But yeah, some people really are just stupid. It has nothing to do with The Shining, yet it's true.

  5. i'm gonna interpret this customer's comment as a very clever reference to the controversy surrounding the "true story" behind another popular haunted house movie, the amityville horror, and as an astute observation on the generally absurd nature of the haunted house genre. yes, if a house is trying to kill you or drive you insane, then why not just go outside.

Probably because the first thing such a house does is make sure you can't go outside, no?

  7. any house that presumed to be able to trap people inside would be a very foolish house, indeed! windows are so fragile!

  10. Perhaps he needed a good talking to, if you don't mind my saying so. Perhaps a bit more. My customers, sir, they didn't care for The Shining at first. One of them actually stole the DVD case, and tried to put the movie away. But I "corrected" them sir. And when my boss tried to prevent me from doing my duty, I "corrected" him.

Have you ever had a SINGLE MOMENT'S THOUGHT about my responsibilities? Have you ever thought, for a single solitary moment about my responsibilities to my employers? Has it ever occurred to you that I have agreed to look after the comic book store until May the FIRST? Does it MATTER TO YOU AT ALL that the OWNERS have placed their COMPLETE CONFIDENCE and TRUST in me, and that I have signed a letter of agreement, a CONTRACT, in which I have accepted that RESPONSIBILITY? Do you have the SLIGHTEST IDEA, what a MORAL AND ETHICAL PRINCIPLE IS, DO YOU? Has it ever occurred to you what would happen to my future, if I were to fail to live up to my responsibilities? Has it ever occurred to you? HAS IT?

  14. Look at Anon at 1:04, he doesn't realize the two long posts that sound crazy do so because they're actual quotes from the movie. You know, The Shining? One of the greatest suspense/horror films of all time? The movie being talked about in the comic? He's an idiot. Proof positive.

  16. Sorry, I just HAVE to chuckle at this being so near the thanksgiving ones; Kubrick's vision of avenging native american spirits being so hidden in plain sight, and all.
