To his friend...

  1. ...this guy doesn't watch much Doctor Who, does he?

  2. Gonna have to agree here. Weeping Angels aside, auto-tuned trash cans and Greys in suits don't do much for me.

  3. The TARDIS isn't an enemy, it's the Doctor's spaceship.

...wait, this was a nerd trap, wasn't it?

  4. Ah yes, the TARDIS. The Doctor's greatest enemy.

Many of the show's fans are kids, so I guess BBC doesn't want villains that are too scary.

  5. "Nyahaha! You'll never stop me, Doctor Who!" sneers Tardis, while twirling his mustache.

  6. Suddenly, the Tardis's consistent dropping off the Doctor in dangerous situations makes sense.

  7. My skin still crawls at the mere memory of the worst Dr Who villain of all time: Adric.

  8. Didn't they actually do a storyline where the Tardis was sentient in one of the older series? It wasn't evil though, but it explained why he was so bad at piloting the thing, because it was taking him where he was needed, not where he wanted to go.

  9. @Gabriel, it was only this last series in an episode called "The Doctor's Wife"

  10. @Gabe. Fairly recently "The Doctor's Wife" on the series that just ended. Written by none other than the legendary Neil Gaiman.

  11. Customer: Dr.Who has the worst bad guys.

Friend: Who has the worst bad guys?

    Customer: Yes.

Friend: I mean the guys name.

    Customer: Who

Friend: The guy with the worst bad guys

    Customer: Who

Friend: The guy with the worst bad guys.

Customer: Who has the worst bad guys.

Friend: I'm asking YOU who has the worst bad guys!

    Customer: That's the mans name.

    Friend: That's who's name?

    Customer: Yes.

Friend: Well go ahead and tell me.

    Customer: Thats it.

    Friend: Thats who?

    Customer: You got it.

    Friend: Your a reTARD!

  12. Daleks aren't autotuned; they're ring modulated.

  13. Also, classic Who did have a theme of the TARDIS being intelligent/sentient, especially in Tom Baker's era. The TARDIS would only really cooperate with the Doctor when he *needed* something.

  16. I think the problem here is lack of context. Try it as the following.
"Dr. Who has the worst bad guys."
(Looks at the bottom of his shoe) "Shit."
(Back to his friend.) "I'm not afraid of anything with Tard in it's name."

See, three separate events. Heck, he may have been having a heated discussion about why he doesn't have mustard on his MC-donalds just before he came in.

  17. Sorceror, I believe you're confusing intelligence/sentience with Deus Ex Machina.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Because you can't spell spell "Dalek" without "TARD". Wait a minute...

Seriously, the list of the Doctor's enemies is long and varied. If he thinks the modern enemies are lame, he should watch some Second Doctor or Fourth Doctor stories.

  19. Imitorar: especially The Power of Kroll! Oh man, everything was rather goofy-lame in that one.

  20. Obviously you all have forgotten TARDO THE TIME-LORD!!!!

  21. @Masamundane The way typed out McDonald's just game me the best idea for my rapper name, also I'm going to say it that way from now on, which won't be often since I've eaten there twice in the last 15 years. But when I do, oh the laughs I'll have.

Change that last part to "looks like a trash can armed with a whisk and a plunger" and I'd unironically agree with it.
