Sometimes there's a reason why certain superheroes never make it big...

  2. As a Moon Knight apologist it is my duty to point out that Moon Knight, being a crazy person, deliberately goes out of his way to wear the brightest possible costume because he's not trying to be all mysterious in the night; rather, he wants everyone to see that it's him and know that he's coming directly at them.

(but since they've yet to actually reiterate that in the new series, yeah)

  3. See, the smart thing they did with Batman was separate the "mysterious in the night" and "brightest possible costume" into two characters.

  4. Then again, if you live in Manhattan aren't you used to every single alley being filled with brightly costumed people? I'd just assume it was an X-Man and go on about my day.

  5. @Sorceror: Indeed, Robin the Boy Hostage in his red and yellow tights was a decoys decoy.

@Tigerama: Not Manhattan, Gotham. GOTHAM. It's not New York. It isn't. Keep telling yourself that until you believe it in your soul or the Licensing Police will eat your first-born.

Aw c'mon. Gotham City is a transparent, thinly veiled New York City.

  7. No in Marvel it's New York City - DC is the one with the double city fetish.

  8. It just seems irresponsible to me on the Avengers part for allowing a crazy person to run around "fighting evil". His personalities have shown that they fracture and change and that he actively listens to them... Eventually he's going to kill a busload of children because "Cap and Spidey told him to."

  9. Ouch. Moon Knight is actually my favourite Marvel character, so this stings rather hard. :( Though the Charlie Huston run had a pretty awesome rebuttal of that whole thing of wearing white.

  10. I don't know, but I kind of think a person coming at me in the middle of the night dressed head to toe in white would freak me out.

And even more so if I was black.

  11. I think the fact that Moon Knight is Bat Sh-- Crazy kills all his appeal

  12. MARVEL: "Hey, I got an idea! Let's take Batman, make him crazy, but to avoid any confusion we'll dress our guy in EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE COLOR so no one notices!"

MARK MILLAR: "Hey, I got an idea! Let's take Batman, make him crazy, but to avoid any confusion I'll dress our guy in EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE COLOR so no one notices! AND, in case they think I'm ripping off Moon Knight, let's make him EVIL!"

  13. This seems surprisingly sensible.

  15. Sure, Moon Knight is a bit derivative of Batman, but lets not forget:

DC, in 1939: "Hey, let's take The Shadow, take away his loosely-defined mental powers, make him a more physical character and put him in a dark, scary costume.."
