Don't these people realize that real life is like a computer with everyone going about... you know, nevermind. They wouldn't have that much imagination.
MY problem with Tron is, how come my computer has such a problem with glitches and viruses and stuff, but THAT computer seeks out and tries to destroy them? SO unrealistic.
-So, one can infer that for this guy, talking to a girl who wears makeup, going to a bar and riding a motorcycle rate slightly less plausible than living inside of a computer-
This guy just seems to have phrased his complaint the wrong way. The real question is what purpose do these barflies and street urchins serve in the computers system? If they're programs, they have to do something, don't they...?
So, sir, what do the people in your computer do? What are the things the people living in your computer tell you? Feel free to lay back on the couch.

ReplyDeleteI'm curious as to what things he would find plausable doing in a computer. Would it be math or filing stuff or what? :S
ReplyDelete"The people in a real computer"? Like in Reboot? :D
ReplyDeleteClearly he has never played any of The Sims games...
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to wonder if your readers have figured out where you work and are just fucking with you.

ReplyDeleteWell, probably because the computer people are killing each other and making YOUR computer glitch and stuff...
ReplyDeleteI mean, wouldn't lots of people NOTICE all these programs disappearing too? lol
Hehe Tron noobs. Throughout the movie the "people in the computer" are referred to as PROGRAMS! The only real people in the Grid are the Flynn's.
ReplyDeleteHehe, apostrophe noob.
ReplyDelete@Last anonymous: Nice.
ReplyDeleteYou misspelt "apostrophe's".
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you'll find that the Flynns are programs too; it all happens in Neo's dream after the final battle with the Agent Smith virus ...
@Frogurt:
ReplyDeleteI worked comics retail in Houston for almost four years.
Each and every one of these cartoons hits very, very close to home.
And it could be so very much worse--Our Host doesn't seem to have to deal with role-playing gamers and LARPers.
@Justin S. Davis
ReplyDeleteI live in Houston too. Which comic store did you work in?

Yep, sounds like my life.
@Donovon:
ReplyDeleteBedrock City, during the go-go '90s.
Ahhhh, memories.
