I wonder what was so important about owning it. Maybe it is just the obvious fact that it could be used as pr0n, but maybe there is another, more obscure reason!
that's the fandom seen in us anime fans right there. I have a few friends who have to live off of Ramen noodles and $1 menu burgers for at least a week after going to a convention lol. sometimes you just gotta get the statue ^.^
I have a cell phone that has been out of minutes for a couple weeks now, so I have to agree that sometimes phone isn't important. As for the question of phone vs. a $45 statue of some comic character, I'd go with phone because that leaves me with $20 for food.
At first reaction I wanted to shake my head and say: "How pathetic..." But, well, I've bought comics or toys or DVDs instead of paying a bill before- so I can't really judge. Sometimes you just HAVE to have something. And like a few others have said; of all the things to put off paying on for awhile, yeah- who cares about a cellphone? It can wait.
Comics, statues, movies and the like are luxuries. Hobbies.
Families, commitments (like bills--think paying those late don't mean anything? Look at your credit report), food and other needs take priority.
Man, this level of miserable existence is exactly why I buy my comics (after family, bills and food)at the store and get out as soon as possible. For as much as I enjoy the hobby, the people around it can be pathetic.
He obviously has so many girls to call and ask out...
ReplyDeleteMan knows his priorities. Atta boy.
ReplyDeleteNobody is calling this guy... He should just leave it off.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who doesn't own a cell phone, I have to say that I agree with him on this point. On the other hand...a Tarot statue?

ReplyDeleteWow...even the replies to this one are pathetic.

Makes me wonder how late he was already--and vicariously how much he already dumped on crap already instead of paying bills.
ReplyDeleteprovoked an angry response from a comment above! What's to say from the speech in the cartoon that the statue wasn't a gift for family?
ReplyDeleteSomething he knew someone else really wanted and was selflessly going without to make someone else happy.
I doubt this was the case at all, just saying seems a strange thing to get upset about given the limited information.
I don't know, what did the statue look like? ;)
ReplyDeleteStatue looks like this: http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=DC70013
