He and his friend agreed that the best part of being on unemployment was finally having the time to work on their own writing projects...

It's good to know that they're out there, answering the tough questions.

  1. Wow, what a scholar. The saddest thing about this though is that I've met a few people that would read that essay and enter a heated debate about the quality of its arguments and whether or not it's ideas are realistic.

  2. Readers may want to take a look at Larry Niven's essay on Superman's love life, "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex" for some chuckles...

  4. Two things came to mind:

    1) Good thing he's not working on fluff like how to solve the debt and hitting the tough issues of the day.

  5. Sadly, I'm in the same position sort of. Save my writing project is third of a set of novels, not including the writing projects I've been commissioned to complete, which include some material for gaming books and a ghostwriting contract. Hopefully I'll be able to switch from unemployment + self employment to part time employment + self-employment sooner rather than later

Wow, yet my boyfriend who wants work can't get unemployment. How lovely.

Anon #1: When my Old English prof in grad school mentioned meeting a famous scholar who was translating Paradise Lost into Elvish, half the class had a nerdgasm -- scary stuff....
