  4. Black comment text on black is blacker than the new black. (Epically black, in fact.)

  5. Oddly, I don't get much of that at all.

I DO get people coming in, looking at an expensive item, and asking if there's a "discount".

(Yes, there is, actually. You just have to get a dozen stamps on your Rewards Card to get it (one stamp for every $10 you spend!) -- or be one of our regulars who drops a couple hundred bucks a WEEK. Or be a teacher, active duty military, an employee of another store in our mall ... but you? J. Random Neverbeenherebefore? No soup for you!!)

  7. Believe it or not, I actually had kinda the exact opposite of this happen once. Back in the dark old days when the "speculation boom" was starting up and Valiant Comics were the "hot" thing of the moment, I stumbled across a copy of Harbinger #1 in the back room that had gotten mis-laid and covered up with other stuff and forgotten about. I put it in a bag & board, and put a $75.00 price sticker on it (what it was listing for at the time in Wizard), and put it on the wall behind the counter. I figured if someone offered me even 20 bucks for it, I'd take it. A few months later, some dude out of the blue says "That comic's priced wrong". I said "Huh?", barely looking up, figuring one of them had dropped in "value" in the price guide since I had originally priced it, and expecting to negotiate a lower price for it with the guy. So he says "That Harbinger #1 is $90, not $75". Apparently, it had gone up in "value" in Wizard. I was incredulous. I replied "Well, if it didn't sell at $75, what makes you think it will sell for $90?". He just looked at me like he didn't get it...
