This guy was arguing with his friend about the mutant registration act in the X-MEN comics...

  2. Screamingly-gay San Francisco Chronicle movie critic Mick LaSalle felt the same way while reviewing "Last Stand." If they couldn't lock Kitty up, he wanted her executed by any means possible.

  3. I had a great discussion with my husband of the validity and logic behind the mutant registration act. We seriously spent 15 minutes taking sides and everything. It was great.

But when it was all said and done, we knew we *weren't* being serious. xD

  4. We really do need to figure out some way to deal with that. I mean sure, I see no reason why mutants can't be running around willy nilly in America, but the rest of us already have stated policies against being armed in public.

Mutant registration act was a step in the wrong direction. Don't want to remove any human freedoms or anything, and it exacerbated the prejudices already in place. However the fact is that professor Xavier could mindwipe multiple counties on a whim. Great that he's such a noble soul and all, but not everyone who's born with a WMD encoded in their DNA is gonna be quite so responsible with it.

Even on a smaller scale there's a well documented tendency for the surrounding people to be severely harmed in the course of a mutant's "Awakening". It's no one's fault, but if not the mutant registration act then still something has to be done. I think what it would come down to is adapting the equipment and training of our police force and prison system to suit a society where some criminals are mutants.
