Since no one minds a malnourished hero...

  1. Since when were vegans malnourished?

  2. Have you tried to keep up a vigorous exercise schedule on nothing but plants?

  3. I don't know if they were vegan, but I'm pretty sure gladiators were vegetarian. There's a lot of protein in pulses and legumes.

  4. Secretly every super hero hates cows. I mean really, cows are dicks.

  5. There is! In Scott Pilgrim is a vegan Ex-Boyfriend with superpowers. She would be very happy. ^^

  6. Isn't he a villain (ex-boyfriend from Scott Pilgrim)? I don't think they'd be happy about that.

  7. Well... Todd Ingram may be a total douche, but the Vegan Police aren't!

  8. There are good vegan athletes, even at an olympic level. But it's hard, mainly because our world is centered a around meat and products made from animals, so many athletes choose not to be vegan.

So you can eat meat, be a vegetarian or be a vegan, if you know what to eat and what not to eat.

    (I'm a vegetarian, not vegan..)

  12. In Superman: Birthright, Superman is a vegetarian.

  13. Oh they all are. Any instance of a superhero eating meat or an animal product is a clever ruse. All sprouts and bean curd. If you look really closely you can see the little dots.

  14. Lentils are a reasonably complete protein by themselves. Otherwise, you have to eat meat or juggle your intake a lot to get enough protein from plants.

Vegetarianism, and veganism, are utterly artificial lifestyles and borderline unhealthy at the best of times.

If you're thinking of arguing, you're wrong, so don't waste your time.

But, if that's how you roll...

And most carnivores will gladly eat you. Especially crabs.

I offer the vegetarian challenge. You pick ten land animals of your choice for me to eat. I pick ten plants of my choice for you to eat. We see who dies.

If we were meant to eat plants, we'd be able to eat more than a few dozen of millions, and we'd be able to tell which ones were edible without a book.

    Here endeth the lesson.

    1. Nobody is going to see this response but the above is one of the most poorly thought out, poorly researched and narrow minded rants on food I've read in a long time. I am more omnivorous than anything but I certainly do not dilute myself into thinking that another dietary choice has less merits because I feel the basis of my own being threatened. Most of the scientific community agrees that or ancient ancestors actually received the majority of those caloric intake from pants and berries, meat making up a by far, secondary source. In fact it is not books that tell us what is safe to eat but a long tradition of each generation telling the new generation, and that includes both plants and animals as there are many examples of animal protein that are dangerous for human consumption. As for the land animals you should try: how about a king cobra, brown recluse, (and since I'm assuming, as your arguments are about what we're supposed to eat, that you are limiting your acquisition of these meats to the use of tools as available to our ancient ancestors) how about a Bengal tiger, a bull elephant, an arctic wolf, a polar bear, a black widow, a timber rattler, a bull moose and a monarch butterfly. Do you know how we learned which pants were safe to eat? We watched which ones didn't kill the people we knew or make them sick, it was the same way we learned which meats were safe to eat, or the safest manner of acquiring them making your little thought experiment an absurd concept. The simple fact is, that like an omnivorous diet, a vegetarian our vegan diet can be perfectly healthy and beneficial as long as it is adhered to intelligently. I guess what I'm saying, Michael z. Williamson, is, enjoy your fast food burgers you big tough carnivore you.

  15. Wasn't Raven vegan at one point? When she was a complete pacifist and not this whiny goth girl?

  16. Maybe... Captain Planet? >.>
As a doctor, I'd like to point out that veganism and vegetarianism are incredibly unhealthy lifestyles to pursue, and nobody wants to hear of the adventures of Super Malnourished Vegan Kid and His Bad Case of [Everything].
