Leto is a fine actor and could well be a fine Joker. The design, unfortunately, is going to cripple his performance from the start. He looks like Ninja from Die Antwoord. Ugh.
I trust Ben Affleck's portrayal of Batman (not necessarily the movie, Superman flicks have sucked for decades, but the portrayal) to turn out alright for a similar but opposite reason: So many people thought George Clooney was going to be the greatest Batman we'd yet seen.
I'm sold. By the Law of Averages, he's got to be right this time.
ReplyDeleteWhat about John DiMaggio?
ReplyDeleteI guess this is the triumph of despair over experience?
ReplyDeleteWho was doubting Leto's ability to portray Joker? People were pissed that he has a bunch of really stupid tattoos
ReplyDeleteOh yeah? Well *I* was wrong about Cesar Romero as Joker. *hobbles back to retirement center*

ReplyDeletePeople said Heath Ledger's design was going to cripple his performance too.

ReplyDeleteIf he keeps it up, he is going to be right sooner or later.
ReplyDeleteYou were not wrong about Jack Nicholson, beardy dude. He's one of the great actors of our time, but he was a terrible Joker.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with Jared Leto really sucking as the Joker this time around. Otherwise, your credibility is totally shot.
