    1. Heh, it would take a fellow Game Politics subscriber to say exactly what was on my mind.

    2. I think he's talking about the silly Snow White dwarves, not the ones from the old animated Hobbit movie.

  4. The Dwarves are young and good-looking.

  5. Just I don't get it? The dwarves from de book are really cool, and they would be perfect if lookes more like the ones in Snow White... But, no, we had that Thorin, that Fili and, oh... that Kili D:

  6. The dwarves in the book are cowards and the Hobbit do all the jobs.

    1. Not true. The dwarfs in the book are all Jews and the goyim do all the jobs.

This is Word Of God from Tolkien himself.

Anonymous 2:30--Is that true? Do you have a source? If it is, yikes.

    3. It's absolutely true. Tolkien liked and respected Jews, but that didn't stop him from stereotyping them in his dwarfs and giving them a semitic language. He made no bones about it his whole life, even mentioning it in an interview he gave the BBC shortly before he died. I'd give a link here, but all google is giving me is stupid stormfront crap. I'm sure it's somewhere on wikipedia.

    4. So that's a no to the source question, then?

FFS. Why some lazy people cannot do their own googling I don't even know.

    6. Yes, I agree. It is really annoying when people posting under the name 'Anonymous' make claims on the internet and other people don't believe them and want actual references to back those claims up. I mean really, it's on the Internet, so it's got to be true.

    7. If it were an extraordinary, obscure, and difficult to research claim like "Hitler's second cousin won the gold medal in the luge at the 1934 AugenFlügel Games" then you would have a point.

But Tolkien's influences are well documented and easy to find. It literally takes less time to type "tolkien dwarf influence" into wikipedia than to ask for a link here.

Skepticism is a good thing in a medium fraught with lies like the internet, but skepticism means finding out the truth for yourself. Sitting on your ass whining for a source is not learning for yourself. It's just lazy.

You should only ask for a source after you try to learn the truth for yourself and come up empty handed. And anyone who doesn't know that Tolkien wanted his dwarves to be "jewish" (and his elves to be "celtic" and his hobbits to be "english bumpkins") hasn't bothered looking.

    8. There's nothing on snopes about this. har har

    9. Snopes covers urban legends and rumors etc., not well researched academic or common knowledge like Tolkien's creations.

There's nothing on snopes about maxwell's equations either. Does that mean electromagnetism doesn't exist?
