I am not personally fond of MLP, but I've always thought that one could argue that being a nerd is about enjoying things - comics, science fiction, table-top RPG's - that other people don't get or see as useless. Most of us who read this web comic qualify in at least one category. One would - well, I would - expect a little more understanding for another nerd, even if (s))he's in a category we don't happen to share.Dianenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8799511146497548002.post-89128770470607784762015-03-31T23:11:12.556-04:002015-03-31T23:11:12.556-04:00@anon 8:43, is there some truth to what you said a...@anon 8:43, is there some truth to what you said about it being unsafe for girls in the toy aisle? Fans are not jerks.

Also, a target demographic has no special ownership of a work. Little girls don't own MLP any more than adolescent boys own comics.

Gatekeepers shouting "it's not for you" are as big a plague on fandom as the ones claiming others aren't "real fans".talihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10271667904531776056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8799511146497548002.post-71483432356922136972015-03-31T08:31:02.911-04:002015-03-31T08:31:02.911-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.talihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10271667904531776056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8799511146497548002.post-87801164333551607282015-03-30T20:43:39.892-04:002015-03-30T20:43:39.892-04:00@Brony Anon: You and your fellow "fans" ...@Brony Anon: You and your fellow "fans" stole a show from its demographic and have made it unsafe for said demographic to appear at conventions or even in the MLP toy aisle at stores. People tell you they think your...No, you don't. People tell you they think your favorite show sucks because they think its for little girls. Don't pretend people reject MLP cause it's so hard to comprehend, it's because of a Bias towards animation and gender norms. Twin Peaks is an interesting and weird show, that admittedly went off the rails for a while in season 2.
