  2. I don't follow DC comics but I'm deeply suspicious of this 'Sinestro' guy who who has red skin, pointy ears, a small black moustache and a widow's peak.

  3. He is not from an English speaking country. The name most likley means something different in his natie language. And it is very unlikley that the double o should be pronounced u as in English.

    1. So, working on the assumption that the 'oo' is pronounced the way Bob Moog pronounced his own name, that would make him (phonetically) "Dr. Dome". I don't see this as much of an improvement ;)

  4. What about Dr. Doom's fifth cousin, Dr. Bob Doom, DDS? He became a dentist. Granted, he did try a brief foray into supervillainy, but after She-Hulk defeated him, she kept him as her dentist. Think about how good a dentist he must be for her to do that.

  5. His name also explains why he always refers to himself in the third person. Wouldn't you, if your name was Doom?
