Eh, not really. Similes are explicitly different from metaphors. A simile uses the words "like" or "as," while a metaphor doesn't. So a phrase can't be both a simile and a metaphor. They're related, but not a subset of each other.
I used to really love indie comics but I am a little more careful these days. All the ones with the best stories seem to have more nudity and gore than I really feel comfortable with, which makes it a mine field, because nudity and gore are never appropriate reasons to dislike anything in fandom.
no 'it's true' tag?!?
ReplyDeleteMy thought exactly.
DeleteI wouldn't go with a "its true" due to it being a matter of opinion. Not sure what DC is up to, but Marvel is doing some interesting stuff.
ReplyDelete"Interesting" is certainly one word for it...
DeleteThere should be a "metaphors" tag. I'd enjoy a OVC metaphors browsing session.
ReplyDeleteThis is a simile.
DeleteSimiles are a subset of metaphors.

DeleteWell, with all the cool, weird stuff Image puts out these days, she's got a point.
