I had this thought process once upon a time. I didn't want anyone stealing my "totally original" characters. I would draw them in secret, only telling close confidants about my amazing "original" works. But I slowly realized nobody was interested in the hackneyed, derivative scribbles of a middle school student.
This is fine behavior for a middle school student. He looks to be about thirty-five.
I'm thinking more of an extremely slovenly 25. Which is still too damn old for this thinking.
Then how do you explain the success of Todd MacFarlane?
He only shows his comics to his girlfriend. You wouldn't know her, she lives in Canada.
Is this a repeat? I feel like we've seen this guy before.
I know we met his Bizarro: http://ourvaluedcustomers.blogspot.com/2013/01/while-explaining-his-plans-to-get.html
