Have these people not seen Star Trek Into Darkness? I think Abrams did a great job with Star Trek, although it was a little too heavy on action and not cerebral enough for me. However, I think that should suit Star Wars fans really well.
Is this where we point out that JJ Abrams had very, very little to do with Lost, beyond its creation? The lead writers on that show were Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse - they're the ones who deserve your blame.
I keep hoping the news of JJ Abrams directing Star Wars is just some sort of giant... CONNNNNNNNNN!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Abrams is the worst pick to direct the new Star Wars!!!

ReplyDeleteDon't drop your monocle on the way out.
DeleteIf the Star Trek movies are anything to go by it'll be an unoriginal revenge plot with lots of references to the original trilogy.
ReplyDeleteWhich is what most of the post-trilogy EU is anyway. So I'm expecting at LEAST that level of quality.
DeleteRemember the Simpsons episode where Comic Book Guy saw the film reel "Alternate ending -- Luke's father is Chewbacca." Abrams just might do that.

ReplyDeleteDon't trust anything this guy says, he's a Decepticon sympathizer.
